Promotions

From section "Promotions" it can be created discount campaigns of 3 types:

  • Standard (eg: current discounts campaigns in store for certain products, brands or categories)
  • Bundle (ex: discount packages for product packages)
  • Custom (eg percentage discount campaigns for Facebook customers, abandoned carts, for certain partners, etc.)

To create a new campaign, go to section Marketing / Promotions and click on "New campaign".
In the "Add new campaign" field, fill out all the required fields ("Maximum number of orders:" is optional), select the desired campaign type and save.
After the creation of the campaign you can start to configure it depending on the type chosen (adding products, defining discounts, etc.).

* 1.Standard *

To add products to a standard campaign, you have 4 possibilities:

  1. [add]: allows you to add to the campaign products from a certain category, belonging to a certain manufacturer or to products searched by name or code
  2. [add bulk]: allows you to add bulk products, adding all product IDs at once, separated by commas or one per line
  3. [add bulk from campaign:] takes products from a completed campaign by indicating the ID of the previous campaign (note: products that are in an active campaign cannot be added in another campaign!)
  4. [Import XLS products:] - option to add from excel, via a default template.
For each campaign a maximum number of accepted orders can be defined, additionally the same discount can be granted for the campaign and for wholesale (yes / no), marketplace (yes / no) and optional, it can have an associated banner, which will be displayed according to template.
Also rules can be set at the product level within the promotion: on the total quantity ordered, or on the maximum quantity in the shopping cart that a customer can buy for that product.
After adding the products, the discount is defined (fixed or percentage value): it can be set per product or bulk, for all products once, completing the value at the first product and then clicking the button with the equal sign, to take the same discount and for the rest of the products in the campaign.

It is advisable to use "Assignment message:", useful for processing orders. Thus, the sales operators will be able to obtain additional information from where they can assign the products if there are several suppliers from which the product can be purchased.

You can make promotions of the type buy x products and get y% for the cheapest. For example, you buy 3 products and give them the cheapest one for free. In this case, the discount rate will be 100%.

Gift / bonus products can be added for each product:
  • Products from the stock site (eg mouse)
  • Products that do not pass through management (eg: green ribbon)
Additional options that can be checked for each product in the promotion:
  • Exp. Free = If checked, the product will receive free shipping, besides discount
  • Allow discount = if checked, the discount from the promotion will be combined with other types of discount (vouchers, customer discount, etc.)
  • Stock clearance = the product will be automatically suspended when it is out of stock

Next to the columns you will see the sign "=", which will copy the settings of the first product and multiply automatically to the rest of the products. You will need to click "Update Products".

2.Bundle

A bundle campaign can contain several types of packages, each with separate products.
In order to add products to a bundle type campaign, we must first create the desired packages (Bundles: [add]), for which you subsequently set the discount type.

Adding products to the campaign is like a standard campaign, having the possibility to select products from a certain category, belonging to a certain manufacturer or to search for products by name / code.

For promotions whose expiration date is approaching, you will be notified by email: "Promotions that will expire in the next 24 hours."

3.Custom
Unlike standard campaigns that are public, custom campaigns are "cookie based" and require a link to be accessed.

To create a custom campaign, you must first add the desired filter type (a campaign can support all types of filters):

After adding the filters, proceed to configure them:

If more than one filter is selected, the client will benefit from all filters.

  • Campaign name: appears in the shopping cart
  • Extra info: used for site automation. If a promotion has a complex mechanism behind it (eg you grant a winter discount, as a percentage of the minimum-negative temperature recorded in Finland every night) then you can make a script.
  • Maximum number of orders: The campaign will be deactivated when at least so many orders have been sent
  • Car load: The promotion will be available even if the customer has not clicked on the special link
  • Cookie 1 day: YES = cookie will be deleted after 24 hours, NO = unlimited cookie
  • Discount wholesale: If checked, customers who have discount grids (wholesale) will benefit from these promotions
  • Hash: click to test or send the special link to clients (for cookie setting)
  • Cart message: The message will appear instead of the campaign name; for Extra info: abandoned_carts, the cart message is the subject of the email sent automatically
  • Countdown identifier: it is used only for setting counter-timer promotions, in which the discount offered decreases by 1% every minute, during the duration of the promotion, which will be equal to the value set in the discount field (ex: 20% discount for a period of 20 minutes; maximum value: 100% discount for 100 minutes). In order to set up a countdown campaign it is necessary to select a unique identifier for the clients.
Once selected, the parameters that uniquely identify a customer will be able to be transmitted on the url. The validity of these parameters is automatically checked by the system and if they are valid, the discount will decrease by 1% every minute.

The Add banner option allows you to add a banner for the current promotion, depending on the template.

Example of a promotion that addresses the recovery of abandoned carts (the client has noted down his email address before leaving the checkout)
